Kids (4-10) Summer Spanish Courses
Kids’ Spanish program offers classes at the Basic, High Basic, and Intermediate/heritage levels for children ages 4-10. Students work in small groups, with a maximum of 8 children per group.

The curriculum for each course is both thematic and sequential with constant review of previous material to ensure mastery of each new skill learned with a heavy emphasis placed on speaking, listening, reading, and writing (based on age level). Not only does our material emphasize exposure to songs, rhymes, games, art, and literature excerpts that are traditional to Latin America and Spain, but it also reinforces life science, reading comprehension topics, and math skills according to grade level.
Spanish for Teens/Youth (10-17)
Our Spanish for teens/youth program takes into consideration the needs of middle school and high school students who are looking for a complete Spanish language program to take along side or in place of high school Spanish.

Classes meet twice a week for an hour and are highly dynamic and interactive, placing primary focus on speaking and oral comprehension. We currently offer classes at the Spanish I, II, and III levels and ask that your student please take our placement exam to see which level is the best fit for him or her. Spanish II
Spanish II is perfect for students who want to feel prepared for starting middle school or high school Spanish I. Students will learn basic greetings, conversation, and vocabulary, as well as review the most important verb conjugations in the present tense.
Spanish III
Spanish III is essential for students entering Spanish II or III. It will introduce and reinforce the key concepts students will need to get ahead for Spanish III or review to feel comfortable in Spanish IV. This class will focus on the past tenses.
Spanish IV
Spanish IV is a highly interactive class designed to expand students’ speaking, reading and listening skills. Students will focus on the future and the subjunctive, two grammar points vital for students who would like to get ahead for Spanish IV and V at their high school.

also known as “heritage speakers”, or non-heritage speakers who have been enrolled in a bilingual program at their school benefit more from a curriculum that is designed to meet their unique needs. Like the other after school classes, students are taught Spanish through a variety of different age-appropriate mediums that promote students’ confidence in their Spanish speaking abilities and simultaneously educate them on Latin American arts and culture.
Standard Spanish Courses
1 hour classes that meet once a week for 8 weeks. Includes a workbook, and access to audio materials. This course is designed for High School students or College students to reinforce what they are learning in their world language courses. It will help students to build proficiency in Spanish.
Intensive Spanish Courses
1.5 hour classes that meet once a week for 6 weeks. These courses are ideal for people who want an immersive learning experience. This course is designed to empower you to speak and work confidently across language barriers with specific grammar lessons and vocabulary.
Spanish for Busy People
1 hour classes that meet once a week for 10 weeks. Ideal for people who are busy but still want to learn how to speak Spanish. This course is mostly online and offers conversational lessons, discussions on current news from BBC and other news outlets in Spanish. Listening to Podcasts and deepening the understanding of grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. This course is tailored by individual request.
Private Spanish Classes
Private Spanish classes with customizable schedule and curriculum that are available for 1 or more people online or at your location. For individuals or groups who aspire to improve their Spanish and to be able to confidently engage in 30 minutes of conversation in the target language.
Over the past twenty years, I have been teaching at prestigious schools in the Philadelphia area. While teaching full time at the Agnes Irwin School, I completed two masters degrees; a M.A. in Hispanic Literature from Villanova University, and a M.A. in Education from La Salle University. These degrees have enabled me to include current events, history, culture, literature, and diversity from Spanish speaking countries into my curriculum in an organized fashion. Upon completion of these degrees, I was able to teach undergraduate Spanish courses at Villanova and Cabrini University for three years. I now work at Notre Dame Academy de Namur, where I teach the highest level courses available, some AP and college level.
